I'm done - pick me up now!

Caitlin's newest trick - holding up her arms to signal she is done. Whether she is in the high chair, on the floor playing, in her exersaucer, or in the stroller - if she is done and wants up -she raises her arms! If you don't come rather quickly she starts flapping her arms like a chicken and whining. She sure knows what she wants!

Rocking, Rolling, & Babbling

Caitlin's dedication in library book

For Christmas for Caitlin we wanted to do something special. So we sponsored the purchase of a children's book for the local library. They put a nice dedication in the front of the book that says "In honor of Caitlin's First Christmas, Love Mom & Dad". Caitiln was the first person to check out "her" book from the library.

It is so much fun to get together with the other Moms and see how all the babies are growing! This week Caitlin was rolling everywhere trying to get into the picnic food! It was a beautiful day this past Wednesday - the weather was perfect and the park was great!

Puppy Love

Doggie eye level?
Originally uploaded by UCFGEEKS
Today Caitlin was able to take one step crawling. She moved one leg and one arm - in the name of Puppy Love. Yep - Reese is her motivation for crawling! Also today when the dogs were barking Eric said "Dog says woof" and Caitln replied "oof". This was repeated three times! She doesn't quite have the "W" sound for the complete word - but it is a start!

On Friday Caitlin found her voice and was babbling nonstop: Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya Da Da Da Da Da! She was so loud that Eric could hear her in the garage from the living room! Today I had a Dr's appointment and Caitlin was "talking" while I waited for the Dr. to come in. I think the entire office heard her! When the Dr. came in he said "we heard you chatting"! Too cute!

Rocking back and forth on hands and knees

Today marked a big learning curve for Caitlin. She discovered that she can get into the crawling position and rock back and forth! It started out that she was practicing in her crib and now she does it almost every time you put her on the floor. She even lifted up one arm at some points just to show that she can hold herself up with two legs and one arm on the floor. She really wants to move - oh boy - I'm not sure if we are ready for that! Also today Caitlin is learning to wave "hi". A couple of times today she waved at Daddy & Mommy when prompted! Too much fun!

Holding my own bottle

Holding my own bottle
Originally uploaded by UCFGEEKS
Normally I feed Caitlin her solid foods in the high chair and then take her out to feed her the bottle. This week after she ate her peas I put the bottle on the tray for a minute and she just took it upon herself to grab the bottle and go to town - as if to say "don't worry Mom - I don't need you anymore - I can hold the bottle on my own now". Oh how fast they grow up!

Caitlin's 1st Merry Go Round Ride

This weekend we went to the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City. It is like a fair -except with a lot of strawberries! Caitlin had a great time looking at all of the sites - and she got to have her first Merry Go Round Ride! Eric stayed off to get some photos and video and I helped her on the ride. Every time we passed Eric I whispered "Daddy" in her ear. She would watch him and crain her neck to see him until he was out of site. Too cute! On the way out we got a big flat of strawberries for $8 from the boy scouts (see flickr photos) and Caitlin passed out the whole way home from the excitement!

Riding in her new Radio Flyer Wagon

This past weekend my parents came up and brought Caitlin a new Radio Flyer Wagon. I am so excited because Eric and I can both remember a lot of fun years with our Radio Flyer Wagons and I know Caitlin will have them too! This is the new and improved "all terrain wagon" with wide wheels! She had a great time riding around with Grammy and Papa!

So I thought - let's play in the laundry basket! I put a pillow and blanket in there to make it more comfortable and around the room we went. She had a blast - another game to play - yeah! Too much fun!

A Mommy & Me Family Brunch

At Brunch with Anna & Cate
Originally uploaded by UCFGEEKS
For 9 weeks I have been taking a Mommy & Me class downtown. Every week each woman introduces themselves and their baby. For the most part you see the Mom's once a week. A few weeks ago I took Caitlin to visit Eric at FedEx and I see one of the Moms (Anna) from my class leaving the building. Turns out she works with Eric at FedEx! What a small world - we have been having a class together for the last 2 months and didn't even know it! This weekend we had brunch together with Anna and her husband. Eric snapped this picture outside First Watch when we weren't looking. What a small world!

Playgroup Families

Every week I go to playgroup - which is a group of Moms I have become friends with. Each week we meet at a different Mom's house and let the babies play while we hang out. Each week I tell Eric how playgroup was and how much fun we had. Well this past weekend Kristen decided to host "family playgroup". This way the Dads got to see their little ones interacting with other babies and meet all of the families. We had a great time - and as it turns out 3 out of the 5 husbands present were computer programmers. So Eric felt right at home and they wasted no time getting into programmer talk! At one point during the party all of the Dads were on the floor playing with the babies while the women were in the kitchen. I have a photo of the event on Flickr labeled it "Daddy Playgroup". Too cute!
